Happy New Year from NPT

Happy 2017! We hope you had a peaceful Christmas, and that you've been enjoying the new year thus far.

January is a time for reflection and for planning - if you're hoping to make a success of 2017, you should be putting together a strategy for the year right now. Here's one item for your to-do list: implement an ISO 9001-compliant quality management system in order to streamline your operations and prioritise customer satisfaction.

If you already have a QMS...

Even if you already have a quality management system that's certified to ISO 9001 standards, the arrival of a new year is the perfect time to review, revamp, and overhaul your QMS. You may need to migrate to ISO 9001:2015 (the most recent revision of the global standard) if you have not already done so, or you might simply wish to undergo a quality management review in order to identify any wastage or weaknesses in your current system.

Whether you're looking to achieve ISO 9001 certification for the first time or to sharpen up / save money on an existing QMS, NPT Management Systems can help. We are a team of professional quality consultants based in Southampton, Hampshire - no matter what industry you're in or what you need from your QMS, we have the knowledge and the experience to assist you.

It is with great pleasure that we announce that NEKK Europe Ltd have transitioned to ISO 9001:2015. But that's not all - not only did they make the transition successfully, they did so with zero non-conformances being raised.

NEKK Industrial Group

NEKK Europe Ltd is the sister company of NEKK Industrial Group, who are based in Chelyabinsk, Russia and have over 500 employees. Due to the strict regulations surrounding the supply of their high-quality copper (II) sulphate, it is essential to NEKK that they keep their QMS (Quality Management System) to a high standard and retain their ISO 9001 certification.

When NEKK Europe Ltd needed to transition their existing ISO 9001:2008 certified QMS to ISO 9001:2015, they wanted to minimise the amount of resources required to complete the transition while still realising all the benefits that come with ISO 9001:2015 certification. To help them achieve this, they chose to work with NPT Management Systems.

Anna Colman, NEKK Europe's Chief Executive Officer, has stated that she has absolute trust in our Principal Consultant Neil Peattie and his knowledge of ISO 9001, and that his ability to apply the standard in a simple manner in a rather complex industry is exceptional. NEKK Europe now plan to continue to use NPT Management Systems to help support and develop their QMS over the coming years.

Furthermore, we can also proudly announce that the highly experienced auditor from the UKAS-accredited certification body that conducted the transition audit stated that this was the most seamless audit they had ever conducted!

If you would like to transition to ISO 9001:2015 with ease, NPT Management Systems can help. Call today on 02380 659 867 or email enquiries@nptmanagementsystems.co.uk.

UK Coat of Arms

Recent changes to consumer rights legislation may have costly consequences for UK businesses. According to the Consumer Rights Act 2015, customers can now reject goods without allowing the supplier any time to fix or improve them. This is known as the consumer's right to reject.

What does the right to reject mean for businesses?

For some businesses, the right to reject could become a very costly problem. The new legislation means that, if you fail to deliver the specified goods promptly and to a satisfactory standard, your customer/client may choose to reject the goods completely; if this happens, you won't have an opportunity to fix the problem, and you won't be able to collect payment for the goods supplied.

However, the right to reject should have no impact on your business if you are committed to quality and customer satisfaction. The best way to ensure consistent high quality within your organisation is to implement a quality management system (QMS) that's specifically tailored to your business and its processes. Implementing a strong QMS and achieving ISO 9001 certification will not only minimise the risk of rejection, it will also help you to win more business in the first place, encouraging potential clients to have confidence in your company and the products you supply.

NPT Management Systems can help you to design and implement a winning QMS that really works for your business. Contact us to discuss your requirements, or click here to learn more about the ISO 9001 standard.
